Keeping to our annual tradition, Daniel and I didn’t give up our winter vacation this year. Most of our winter vacations are urban holidays, spent in large cities, while last year we decided to mix it up a little bit and take a trip to a quiet, rural Dolomites, surrendering to the calm and serenity at a pampering spa hotel.
Last year’s trip really made us fall in love with this concept of a wintery spa vacation, so when it came time to decide where we’ll go this year, we were debating what sort of trip we’d like to take this year. We eventually decided to combine an urban vacation in a vibrant city with a spa vacation to relax and recharge our batteries. We chose Italy, my favorite country in the world, as our destination, although this time around we planned to go to Northern Italy and spend our time between Milan and the picturesque South Tyrol in the Dolomites.
During our vacation, we stayed in Milan for 3 nights, and then in South Tyrol for an additional 3 nights. To arrive in Milan we took a direct flight from Tel Aviv, and three days later we rented a car to make our way to South Tyrol and back to Milan’s airport.
This little post is just a small taste of the two opposite extremes we experienced on our trip – urban vs. rural. I will soon publish a detailed post about our winter vacation in Milan and also a post dedicated entirely to the amazing hotel we stayed at in South Tyrol – My Arbor. Until then, here are the first 20 photos from our winter trip to Italy. {By the way, you are more than welcome to click here to see my Instagram highlights dedicated to our time in Milan and the Dolomites}
