The time between spring and summer, when the weather is nice and warm, is the ideal time to spend by the pool or on the beach.
When I go to the beach or pool, whether it’s spontaneously on a beach near my house or a vacation at beach-y destination, I always love taking a beach bag with all of the things that will make my time in the sun no less than perfect.
In honor of the beginning of the warm season, I decided to write a post that’s dedicated to all of the things I think every girl should have in her beach bag >>
* Besides, my sister bought me a new and stunning beach bag and I just have to show it off 😉
1) The Triple B {Big Beach Bag}
The most important accessory that will hold all of the things you don’t want to get to the beach without –
like, duh.
2) Towel
One of my biggest fetishes during the summer are big, pleasant and pretty beach towels.
Right now I really love the one my friends gave me at my bachelorette party – it’s summery and extremely pleasant, and most importantly, it has huge pineapples on it!
3) Bathing Suit
Doesn’t matter if you’re more of a bikini girl or if you would rather wear a one-piece, if you prefer colorful and summery or classic and timeless – the important thing is to find a bathing suit that will make you feel the best on the beach.
4) A Bottle Of Water
I don’t go to the beach without a very big and cold water bottle, and I make sure to drink from it every half hour at least, because there’s nothing that sucks more than going home after a great day at the beach and starting to suffer from dehydration symptoms.
5) Oil-Absorbing Sheets
Does some quality time with the sun make your T-zone shine?
I feel you sis…
In my beach bag you could always find a small package of oil-absorbing sheets that easily absorb the excess oil from the skin and make me look fresh in a minute.
6) Sunglasses
You can’t enjoy a sunny day at the beach without sunglasses. Besides, they are the perfect shield to keep sand out of your eyes and add style to your look in a second.
Scared of something happening to your expensive glasses? I always throw a cheaper pair of sunglasses into my beach bag, and on days I don’t want to part from my regulars – I make sure I keep them in a hard case whenever I take them off.
7) Flip Flops
You should definitely have a pair of the most popular shoes for the hot season, and make sure it’s comfortable and durable enough for running around on the beach and in the water.
My Havaianas flip flops were my regulars until recently, and then I fell in love with a super comfortable pair that was on sale in NIKE’s outlet store in Eilat.
8) A Hat
helps protect against sun strokes and also protects the skin and hair from sun damage? Definitely a must in every bag!
9) Sunscreen
Two products that are a must in every beach bag are sunscreen for your face and cream/oil sunscreen for your body. You should use two separate products and not apply regular sunscreen for your body on your face to keep your facial skin pimple-free.
It’s important to always apply sunscreen before leaving your house, but don’t forget to put the products in your bag and make sure to reapply often while staying outdoors – especially after entering water, sweating or wiping your skin with a towel in order to protect your skin.
10) Deodorant
It’s always good to have deodorant in your bag to freshen up after getting out of the water or before leaving the beach. I’m addicted to NIVEA’s spray deodorant that I bought in Romania, but unfortunately isn’t available in Israel {if you’re abroad – stock up!!! 😉 }.
11) Healthy Snacks
There’s no doubt that it’s fun to eat ice cream at the beach once in awhile, but I always like bringing healthy snacks with me, like yummy summer fruits, dried fruits and natural energy bars – because they meet the need for something sweet and aren’t too heavy for the body.
12) Reading Material
One of the best ways to relax is to dive into a fascinating book or look through a fun magazine while the sun’s rays warm up your body.
13) Cell Phone
It’s hard to find me without my iPhone. In fact, I think that the only day I spent without it during the last few years was on my wedding day, and there’s no doubt that it was very relaxing to some extent.
But let’s admit it – it’s almost impossible to set free from this tiny device that incorporates a camera, music, an endless amount of reading material, and a phone, of course 😉
So even when I want a relaxing afternoon at the beach, I can’t leave my iPhone behind – and simply enjoy a calm playlist of songs on Jango or Spotify.
14) Headphones
If you’re taking a cell phone with you, don’t forget to put headphones in your bag – not only will you be able to listen to music without bothering everyone around you on the beach, but you’ll also be able to avoid contact between the dirty screen and your face when someone calls {and this, my loves, is a huge preventive step from pimples on your cheeks…}.
15) Ponytail holders
3 reasons you should always have ponytail holders in your beach bag –
- Because it’s hot and having hair on your neck will only make you sweat more.
- Because you want to go into the water but you really don’t want to get your hair wet.
- Because who doesn’t want an even tan on their back and shoulder areas?
16) A Fan
Perfect way to freshen up during very hot hours.
17) Tissues
Just like in my regular bag, my beach bag will always have at least one pack of tissues for emergencies {especially when sunscreen accidentally enters the eyes}.
What are your MUST HAVES for your trips to the beach or pool?
