3 Festive Personal Desserts in Jars

Lately I have a weakness for food served in jars.ย 

Breakfasts, salads, pasta, pies and even noodles! {Promise to share selected recipes with you in the future ๐Ÿ™‚ }

Not only are the meals served in jars beautiful and appetizing, they're also packed in a compact way that makes it easy to carry them anywhere.

So, not surprisingly, when I thought of a fun post for Shavuot, a picture of personal desserts in jars came into my mind –

They're festive {for some reason, personal desserts always feel the most festive to me}

They're easy to prepare {unlike the traditional cheese cakes of the holiday}

And it's also easier to take them on a picnic outdoors or to dinner by friends without fearing that they'll lose their shape on the way ๐Ÿ™‚

The first dessert/snack/breakfast I made in a jar and posted here on the blog – the Chia Pudding โ€“ became a crazy hit and I just keep getting positive comments, not only because itโ€™s the most delicious in the world, but because of the quick preparation and the cool way of serving it… So I have a strong feeling that the dessert jars that I prepared for you today will soon find their way to your refrigerators as well ๐Ÿ˜‰

In this post you'll find a recipe for an amazing cheesecake {Daniel says itโ€™s even more delicious than our favorite at Shine! โ™ก}, a dreamy Tiramisu and a “drunk” fruit salad {which also meets the need to sip a delicious fruit sangria at the end of a meal}.

By the way, the first two recipes arenโ€™t dietetic at all, but I assure you – they're so good that they're totally worth the calories!

If you prepare these desserts youโ€™ll also understand that theyโ€™re totally worth the 20% of the crime range.

โ—„โ—„ PERSONAL CHEESECAKES IN JARS โ–บโ–บ

3 ืงื™ื ื•ื—ื™ื ืื™ืฉื™ื™ื ื•ื—ื’ื™ื’ื™ื™ื ื‘ืฆื ืฆื ื•ืช - ืžืชื›ื•ื ื™ื ืœื—ื’ ืฉื‘ื•ืขื•ืช 3 ืงื™ื ื•ื—ื™ื ืื™ืฉื™ื™ื ื•ื—ื’ื™ื’ื™ื™ื ื‘ืฆื ืฆื ื•ืช - ืžืชื›ื•ื ื™ื ืœื—ื’ ืฉื‘ื•ืขื•ืช

Preparation time – 15 minutes. Itโ€™s best to prepare at least 5 hours before serving and cool in the fridge ๐Ÿ™‚

Quantity – 4 jars.

Ingredients –

For the base :

14 Petit Beurre biscuits.

100 grams melted butter.

For the cheese layer :

450 grams of cream cheese with 25% fat {2 packs}.

3/4 cup heavy cream.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract {if thereโ€™s a vanilla stick – even better!}.

3/4 cup powdered sugar.

For the fruit layer :

3 cups frozen blueberries.

Juice from half a lemon.

4 tablespoons of water.

1 tablespoon of cornstarch powder.

Directions โ€“

1. Place the Petit Beurre biscuits in a double bag and break them into small pieces with a rolling pin.

2. Transfer the biscuits into a bowl, add the melted butter and mix well.

3. Divide the base mixture between the jars evenly and compress using the edge of the rolling pin.

4. Cook the blueberries, lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of water in a small pot. When the mixture starts to boil, mix the cornstarch with the remaining 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl, and add it to the pot. Mix for another minute until the mixture thickens and turn the flame off.

5. Place the sauce in a small container until it completely cools off.

6. Mix the cream cheese in a bowl with a fork to air it out. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract {or the vanilla granules} and mix well until you get an even mixture.

7. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it stabilizes.

8. Fold the cream into the cheese and mix until even.

9. Divide the cheese mixture between the jars evenly.

10. When the blueberry sauce is cold, add it evenly between the jars.

โ—„โ—„ PERSONAL TIRAMISU CAKES IN JARS {without eggs}ย ย โ–บโ–บ

 ื 3 ืงื™ื ื•ื—ื™ื ืื™ืฉื™ื™ื ื•ื—ื’ื™ื’ื™ื™ื ื‘ืฆื ืฆื ื•ืช - ืžืชื›ื•ื ื™ื ืœื—ื’ ืฉื‘ื•ืขื•ืช 3 ืงื™ื ื•ื—ื™ื ืื™ืฉื™ื™ื ื•ื—ื’ื™ื’ื™ื™ื ื‘ืฆื ืฆื ื•ืช - ืžืชื›ื•ื ื™ื ืœื—ื’ ืฉื‘ื•ืขื•ืช

Preparation time – 15 minutes. Itโ€™s best to prepare at least 8 hours before serving and cool in the fridge

Quantity – 4 jars.

Ingredients

For the base :

200 grams of ladyfinger biscuits.

A cup of espresso, cold.

2 tablespoons of coffee or chocolate liqueur.

For the cheese layer :

500 grams of mascarpone cheese {2 packages}.

250 ml of heavy cream.

7 tablespoons of powdered sugar.

For the decoration :

Powdered cocoa powder

Directions โ€“

1. Beat the heavy cream until you get a firm whipped cream.

2. In a separate bowl, whip the mascarpone cheese.

3. Using a spatula, gently mix the mascarpone with the whipped cream.

4. Add the powdered sugar to the mixture and mix until even.

5. Mix the espresso with the liqueur in a bowl.

6. Dip every biscuit for a second in the coffee mixture and place on a plate.

7. Break the dipped biscuits into small pieces with a knife.

8. Spread the biscuit mixture between the jars.

9. Add the cheese mixture over the biscuit layer.

10. Before serving – decorate the jars with cocoa powder using a thick sieve.

 

โ—„โ—„ โ€œDRUNKโ€ PERSONAL FRUIT SALAD IN JARS โ–บโ–บ

Preparation time – 5 minutes. You should prepare it right before serving

Quantity – 4 jars.

Ingredients

5-6 types of seasonal fruit {I used the Pink Lady apple, nectarine, carambola, apricot, peach and purple grapes}.

Sparkling white wine.

Directions

Cut the fruit into small pieces and place them in neat layers in the jar.

Pour the chilled sparkling white wine into the jar.
