Do you know the feeling you get close to your birthday when you suddenly get super nostalgic?
Might just be me, but my upcoming birthday {27 – OMG! } is bringing up a lot of memories from the past.
{Wow – I think that’s the official sign that I’m getting old…}
During my last trip to the supermarket, while I piled up fruits in the shopping cart, I suddenly remembered that when I was little I loved eating cantaloupes as is – without the whole mess of peeling and cutting.
I just cut the cantaloupe in half, removed the seeds and started eating it with a small spoon until I reached the peel.
Why and when did I stop doing this, I asked myself.
Anyway, this burst of nostalgia and the fact that the cantaloupe season is almost over, made me buy a full bag of ripe cantaloupes.
What I didn’t remember while I was shopping was that next week we’ll be away from home and I bought a *bit* too much.
I suddenly thought of a way to maximally use all of the cantaloupes!
Why shouldn’t I combine between the cantaloupe, which turns into a bowl you can eat out of once you clean out the seeds, and my usual breakfast lately – a bowl of muesli with yogurt, fresh fruit and homemade granola?
That’s how this amazing breakfast came to life – cantaloupe muesli breakfast bowls – not only nutritious and satisfying but also really beautiful! {Which makes it a perfect brunch with your girlfriends!}.
What’s fun about this breakfast is that it’s super quick to prepare – you don’t even have to cut the fruit since the bowl is the fruit.
